Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Kyle is a Professional Civil / Environmental Engineer with 20 years of professional experience. His first work experiences were on the family farm and working construction with his father’s excavation company; He later graduated and moved to Edmonton to work in the oilsands industry where through a progressive career of technical design, field engineering and construction management, learned how to evaluate and make decisions that would provide the best project value.

Kyle loves seeing a project from start to finish and always puts himself in the shoes of the Client, the Operator, the Regulator, and commits to providing solutions that are fair and reasonable for all.  He will not be satisfied until he fully understands your challenges after which he will study and craft a workable plan that will be delivered openly and diligently. Sang is a professional engineer with over 27 years of experience in engineering design, engineering management, and project management within the EPC environment. Immigrated from Vietnam, Sang made Edmonton his home since he first landed in Edmonton back in summer of 1979.

She has worked with industries such as fertilizer production, oil sands tailings management, and oil & gas transportation and refining. Marion’s diverse project experience means that she can learn unfamiliar equipment or processes quickly and produce high quality deliverables for all phases of engineering projects. Extensive work in the field on replacement and repair projects (such as replacing large fired heaters) has taught Marion to prioritize practical solutions to complex problems and ensure projects have as little downtime as possible.

Interaction with many professions and trades over the years has demonstrated that Marion consistently creates good relationships with new clients while collaborating to find the best solutions. Kevin is a Piping Designer with over 27 years’ experience. With a father as a welder in Lloydminster’s heavy oil patch, his early exposure was to pipe fitting techniques and how a fabrication shop works. Summer jobs involved helping pipe fitters and welders fitting up their spools. It was an easy to transition to NAIT’s EDDT program to learn the ins and outs of being a piping designer. After graduation, Kevin was able to dabble in many local Edmonton industries from Pharmaceutical, Power, Chemical, and Breweries, eventually settling in a career supporting primarily the Oilsands industry.

Known for being a collaborative team member, Kevin works closely with Operations to ensure designs are ergonomic and effective to meet their needs as well as safe, constructible, and cost effective. Kevin works synergistically with all team members to help drive all aspects of his projects to successful completion.

Her project experience is largely based in central and northern Alberta with some projects in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon. Her experiences have resulted in the development of strong project and client management skills, along with design and construction related geotechnical capabilities.

Shelly sees clear communication with coworkers, clients, and contractors alike as a key component of successful project delivery. She believes there is always a solution to the challenges at hand, and they are often derived in settings which foster open and honest communication. Shelly is cost-conscious and strives for cost-efficient and practical designs.

Rob is a serial learner whose experience brings different perspectives and skills to solving complex problems. Born to deaf parents, Rob grew up in a world of social activism and developed a strong affinity for the underdog. His natural writing skills led him early in his career to journalism, where he excelled but grew restless as the industry struggled to adapt to a world with an internet. After several years developing his management skills in the restaurant industry in B.C., Rob moved to Edmonton and found tremendous satisfaction learning new skills working on service rigs. In 2004, Rob moved to Montreal to work with his musician wife-to-be, and soon they were touring her show around the middle east and Asia. Dissatisfied with his inability to answer the question “Is Climate Change real?”, Rob returned to school to study science, and he hasn’t looked back. He now lives in Edmonton with his wife and their two kids.

Dr. Ranjeet Nagare is a hydrogeological engineer with over 18 years of diversified research and industrial experience in providing solutions to groundwater-related technical and regulatory problems. He has worked on several complex multidisciplinary projects in Canada, USA, Germany and south Asia. His Canadian experience includes four years in Ontario and NWT and ten years in the Alberta oil sands. Ranjeet is an expert numerical modeller and a specialist in fields of hydrogeology and wetlands and cold regions hydrology.

Coming from an arid region in India and an agricultural background, Ranjeet was able to witness the role of engineering in water management. This experience was instrumental in him choosing hydrogeology as a profession. Ranjeet actively works on devising innovative solutions in applied hydrogeology and envisions a critical role for engineering in problems of tomorrow. Having practiced hydrogeology in different parts of the world, he appreciates the importance of local knowledge and experience in devising practical solutions for water related problems.

Craig has over 45 years of experience in hydrotechnical engineering. He has managed or conducted assignments ranging from hydrometric/bathymetric survey programs and specialist planning/feasibility studies to detailed design, regulatory permitting, construction inspection and post-construction monitoring on a wide variety of projects in western Canada and Alaska.

Early in his career, Craig was involved in the hydraulic design of dams and hydroelectric power generation facilities. More recent work has been focused in the areas of river engineering, fluvial geomorphology and surface water hydrology and has included projects involving channel stabilization, flood control/flood hazard management, raw water supply, river and floodplain crossings, agricultural/surface mine drainage and fisheries habitat enhancement.

Craig combines state-of-the-art technical expertise with extensive hands-on field experience. In addition to his project-related activities, he has co-authored numerous applied research reports on river hydraulics and presented case history papers on bank erosion, channel shifting and scour/degradation problems at technical conferences.

Philip is a professional geotechnical engineer with over 12 years of industry and research experience. Originally from Ontario, Phil graduated from McGill University and worked for over ten years in the Alberta oil sands on a diverse range of mining and tailings projects. His pursuit of life long learning then led him to Colombia where he obtained his Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering while picking up a new language along the way.

Indu Ghuge has a bachelor in software engineering, with eight years of software testing, development and data science experience in areas of banking, telecommunications, e-commerce, insurance and law enforcement. She has worked on complete software development life cycle including implementation of software verification and validation plans, coding, debugging and software testing. This included working in areas of cybersecurity, database management and visualization, web-based application testing, product performance testing and client support.

Coming from rural India, Indu has always managed her professional career while balancing the expectations and responsibilities of family and society that come with the territory. This has prepared and enabled her to progressively take up more professional responsibilities and leadership roles. A native Edmontonian, Gary started his career in the field as a construction contract field administrator. His subsequent time as a reliability engineer gave him full appreciation as to how chronic maintenance and operational issues could be prevented with good engineering design.

Working in engineering consulting, Gary has progressed from technical design through various leadership roles with significant experience in project management. He has managed projects ranging from small to billion-dollar major projects with a team of 250 working in four countries. Gary prides himself on creating high performing teams by selecting strong team members with excellent leadership skills.

In his 30 years he has had the opportunity to work on revamp, brownfield, and greenfield projects as well as front-end, detail engineering, through to project close-out. Much of his experience has been in oilsands and pipeline facilities.

Gerica has over 20 years of progressive project controls experience on multiple projects and have gained international exposure working on multi-billion-dollar projects in the US, Canada, and the Middle East. She has completed a civil engineering degree and has obtained her project management professional certification. Her first work experience was in the family construction business with her father’s EPCM company. Prior to joining ARKK, she worked as a project controls lead managing a team on a large-scale oil and gas, mining, hi-way/infrastructure, chemical, specialty gases, electric utilities, and power networks from different project phases from FEL 1, FEL 2, FEL 3, detail engineering, procurement, and construction.

Gerica is currently the Senior Project Schedule and Cost Control Lead at ARKK. She works with the project management team in implementing project controls processes and standards. She is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace. Her overall experience working for both the owner and EPCM gave her an in-depth knowledge of what’s important from all sides of the project.

Mario grew up in Monterrey, Mexico where he was involved early in his career in construction supervision providing support in the scheduled renovation program at the UANL soccer stadium. Thomas recently graduated from the University of Alberta’s Civil-Environmental Engineering program and is excited to be a part of ARKK. Thomas has long been fascinated with engineering and construction and is eager to learn from some of the best engineers and technicians in the industry.

Born and Raised in the Edmonton Area, from repairing electronics to building a robot out of scrap, Thomas has always been interested in science, technology, and how things work. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, is an avid golfer, a hockey fan, and loves anything involving the ocean. Thomas is a natural problem solver and looks forward to providing creative, practical solutions to the projects he works on.
